The King opined that their demands amounted to a lot of money for just knowing water flowed downhill.

Sir Rodney responded "Sire, water is not all that flows downhill."

To that point, it is a conundrum of sorts that the consensus of the Republican Party here in Florida seems to be "Change! While we're at it, let's hope it works out."

One historical benchmark of conservative politics has been the resistance to change while the liberal bench has been viewed as promoters of change. Hard to track who is what these days while they collectively oversee the destruction of our waters and natural systems.

Given the economic impact these resources have on Florida it is difficult to fathom why both parties are not falling all over themselves to protect and conserve. Yes, retirees vote. At the same time, pandering to that business plan in the same fashion as our grandfathers is myopic at best. It is also the economic model which places Florida near the bottom of the totem pole nationally, this from the perspective of domestic product and per capita wage.

Keep this in mind come November.

Dan H.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798568783457003128.post-56075061806462188952014-06-03T16:18:16.159-04:002014-06-03T16:18:16.159-04:00Very well done Vergara and it is the absolute trut...Very well done Vergara and it is the absolute truth of the matter. The lady elected enjoyed the endorsements of Senator John Thrasher and Governor Scott. Among other things, the lady elected was head of the Clay County Republican Party, which is part of Senator Thrasher’s District. Interestingly, the vote was 106 to 69, which means that in spite of Thrasher’s and Scott’s endorsement, the lady received only 60% of the vote. Another view would be that 40% of the votes were against Thrasher and Scott. This indicates to me that there are a few Republicans who have not drunk the Scott cool-aid and are independent thinkers. This is a good sign for Charlie Crist. Either way I believe that a majority of the voters will be voting for the candidate who will do the less damage to the State or the less of two evils as opposed to voting for one of the candidates.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798568783457003128.post-57296409042502433032014-06-03T14:42:35.601-04:002014-06-03T14:42:35.601-04:00When I was growing up..Scott was something we flus...When I was growing up..Scott was something we flushed down the tolet.
